Get to know us
Urban Green Project was created in 2022 by a plant scientist and a marketing and gardening specialist. Our love of plants and deep ties to our community drove an idea that we could create outdoor spaces complete with agriculture, horticulture, education and community. We first partnered with Ripon, California's Garden Joy, a successful community garden program. Through that partnership and participating in their seasonal farmers market, we saw the impact they have on their community through this space. In 2023, we received our 501(c)(3) non-profit status, and began building garden spaces and educational programs.
In 2025, we began a project in our hometown very close to our hearts. We worked with the City of Manteca, the city manager, the mayor, council-members and parks and recreation directors to construct a space in downtown Manteca that will serve as a community garden space. We've worked to curate this space into what it is today, in 2026. So far, we've hosted educational classes, homeschool groups, community groups, scouts, our plant loving community and volunteers within our little 24 box garden space. Hopefully you can join us in the garden!
In 2026, we are more focused than ever to expand our reach into urban agriculture by working with local schools, colleges and furthering our relationship and opportunity with the City of Manteca to construct more community spaces focused on agriculture.

Our Mission
We're on a mission to create beautiful functioning community spaces with sustainable capabilities and ties to educational opportunities and city programs. We plan to utilize each new space created to it's full capacity, celebrating community, growing edible items year-round and providing diverse educational opportunities from background growing to sustainable agricultural research.
Our Vision
We want to live in a world where people can access fresh food all the time. Our vision is to create community gardens that function as educational and research hubs, community driven spaces and a place to grow food locally. We hope to connect each garden with a market to sell fresh goods in that area, supporting local farmers and businesses and providing a full circle connection to resturaunts, consumers and sustainable agriculture.
